Locus Licence Terms

1. Subject matter

Locus is a specialist consultant service for georeferencing delivered as software: an Archicad add-on that imports geodata, corrects the project's position and generates georeferenced models and library parts. One licence is purchased per building project. The licence covers the geodata import, the position correction and the models and library parts generated with Locus.

2. Right of use

Models, library parts and data generated with a licence may be used in the licensed building project without any time limit — including after the update licence has expired. The right of use is non-exclusive and limited to the licensed building project.

3. Update licence

The update licence is limited in time. Its duration depends on the tier and starts at purchase: Student and Competition 6 months, Small 2 years, Medium 3 years, Large 5 years. During its term it covers re-downloading the geodata in any composition and resolution, changing the georeferencing within a radius of 500 metres around the first placement, and the entitlement to support.

After expiry, the generated models remain usable without time limit in accordance with clause 2; renewed data downloads, georeferencing changes and support then require a new licence.

Fair use: the update licence is designed for the ordinary course of a construction project — such as re-downloading in a later project phase, a finer resolution for execution, or an occasional correction of the project origin within the 500 m radius. Systematic, automated or project-unrelated retrieval (e.g. daily origin changes, bulk data harvesting, or use as a continuous data service) is not covered. In cases of evident overuse, bimover may throttle retrieval or make it subject to prior consultation; the right of use under section 2 remains unaffected.

4. Licence holder and project binding

The licence holder is whoever pays for the licence — usually the building owner or the architecture firm. The licence is bound to both the licence holder and the building project. If the respective other party changes — the architect on a building owner's licence, the building owner on an architecture firm's licence — the licence remains valid.

Transferring the licence to another building project is excluded. The licence key (LK-…) may be copied between CAD files within the same building project, in particular for multi-file projects.

5. Tiers and guide values

There are five tiers: Student (students only, payment via TWINT), Competition (for architecture competitions; if the competition is won and the project is continued, the price paid is fully credited when upgrading to a full licence), and Small, Medium and Large with construction-cost guide values of under CHF 3 million, CHF 3 to 8 million and over CHF 8 million. Assignment to the appropriate tier is trust based, as stated by the licence holder; there is no technical enforcement.

6. Prices and rebilling

All prices are final prices in Swiss francs including 8.1% VAT. Rebilling the licence to the building owner as a specialist consultant position (georeferencing) is expressly intended; a receipt stating the licence holder, project and amount is available from the add-on.

7. Third-party data

The imported geodata originates from the respective national providers (for example swisstopo). Their terms of use and attribution requirements apply in addition to these licence terms and are shown during import. We have no influence on the availability, currency or quality of these third-party sources and accept no liability for their content.

8. Support

The entitlement to support exists for the duration of the update licence. Support requests are submitted via ticket directly from the add-on.

Support covers exclusively matters closely related to Locus: georeferencing and position correction of the licensed project, the geodata import, and the elements generated by Locus. It does not cover general Archicad support, modelling or CAD training, IT support, or work on the project itself. Fair use applies to support as well: a scope appropriate to the project size; for recurring similar or project-unrelated requests, bimover may refer to the documentation or limit the scope.

9. Refunds

If an unredeemed payment is refunded, the associated entitlement to the licence and services lapses. Models already generated from a redeemed purchase remain usable in accordance with clause 2.

10. Final provisions

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of bimover. We may amend these terms; amendments apply to future purchases — licences already purchased remain governed by the version in force at the time of purchase.
