Orthera Privacy

This page describes what Orthera, the add-on for quality control of building models in Archicad, does with data. For bimover’s website, account, sign-in and payment, see the general Privacy Policy. Where the two could be read differently, this page wins for Orthera.

The short version: the building model stays on your computer, and bimover never receives it. Orthera sends us what signing in and checking the licence need, and nothing beyond that.

1. Controller and contact

bimover GmbH, Hammer 19, 5000 Aarau, Switzerland. UID CHE-132.862.302. Email: privacy@bimover.ch

2. What stays on your computer

Orthera reads the elements of the open project to measure their angles, and changes them only when you ask it to: when you orthogonalize, move or copy. None of it goes to bimover, neither elements nor geometry, layers or the names of files and projects. Orthera computes the numbers in its statistics on your computer, and they stay there.

Besides that, Orthera keeps:

  • The exceptions in the project itself: which elements are marked as intended. They belong to the project file and apply to everyone who opens the project. In Teamwork, Orthera reserves them like any element through your office’s Teamwork server, not through bimover.
  • The settings such as threshold, tolerance and display, in the Archicad preferences on your computer.
  • A log for support at ~/Library/Logs/bimover/Orthera.log, on Windows at %LOCALAPPDATA%\bimover\Logs\Orthera.log. Orthera sends it nowhere; if support needs it, you send it yourself.
  • The sign-in, while you are signed in: the session of your bimover account, the proof of your licence and the identifier and private key of this device, on the Mac in the keychain, on Windows encrypted for your Windows account.

3. Signing in

Orthera uses the bimover account; there is no separate Orthera account. As long as you are not signed in, Orthera sends bimover nothing.

You sign in with a code. Orthera shows it and, when you press the button, opens the page bimover.ch/anmelden/code; there you sign in with Apple or Microsoft and approve or decline the sign-in. What we store for it is described in the general Privacy Policy.

When you sign in, Orthera sends bimover:

  • an identifier of this device and the public part of a key Orthera creates for it; the private part stays on your computer;
  • the platform, that is Mac or Windows, the version of Orthera and which app is signing in.

Orthera does not send a device name: it is often the computer’s real name.

4. Checking the licence

Signed in, Orthera renews the session from time to time and asks our server whether your office has assigned you an Orthera licence. The session, a proof carrying the public key of this device and the identifier of the app go along, and, as with any request on the internet, your IP address. The answer says whether the licence is valid and until when.

Whoever runs your office at bimover buys your licence and assigns it to you. For that, we store which member of the office holds which licence and since when, and those who run the office can see it. Purchase and payment are described in the general Privacy Policy.

The legal basis for signing in and checking the licence is performance of the contract for your account and licence (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); see also section 12 of the general Privacy Policy.

5. No usage statistics

Orthera has no usage analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting to bimover and no tracking. Orthera does not count which tools you use.

6. Signing out and deleting your account

Signing out in the Orthera menu ends the session at bimover as well and removes it and the proof of your licence from your computer.

You delete your bimover account on the website, see Delete your bimover account. The account applies to every bimover app you sign in to with it. If you own an office in which others still work, or if an office that would be dissolved with the account has an unpaid invoice, the page tells you what to do first.

7. How long we keep data

We keep account, sessions, devices and licences as described in section 11 of the general Privacy Policy. Orthera reports nothing to us that would have to be kept beyond that.

8. Your rights

The section on your rights in the general Privacy Policy applies here too: access, rectification, erasure, objection and complaint to the competent supervisory authority. Write to privacy@bimover.ch.
