GDLykoi Privacy
This page describes what the GDLykoi app for the Mac does with data. GDLykoi opens, edits and writes Archicad library parts (GSM files) on your own machine. For bimover’s website, account, sign-in and payment, see the general Privacy Policy. Where the two could be read differently, this page wins for GDLykoi.
The short version: the library parts and their scripts stay on your Mac, and bimover never receives them. Without signing in, GDLykoi sends us nothing. Signed in, it sends what signing in and checking the licence need, and nothing beyond that.
1. Controller and contact
bimover GmbH, Hammer 19, 5000 Aarau, Switzerland. UID CHE-132.862.302. Email: privacy@bimover.ch
2. What stays on your Mac
GDLykoi reads and writes the library parts you open yourself, where they are. Scripts, parameters, images and everything else in a library part stay on your machine. None of it goes to bimover, not even the names of the files or folders.
Besides that, GDLykoi keeps on your Mac:
- Backups of a library part before GDLykoi overwrites it, together with the
exchange folder of the bridge to Archicad and its reports, all in the app’s
own folder at
~/Library/Application Support/GDLykoi. - One setting in the app’s preferences: whether strict mode for working with an AI is on (section 5).
- In the keychain the session of your bimover account and the proof of your licence while you are signed in, the identifier and private key of this device, and the secret word for strict mode.
Passwords of protected library parts are checked by GDLykoi on your machine. GDLykoi does not store them and does not send them.
The watermark GDLykoi can put into a library part contains a point in time and a checksum. It contains no name and no account.
3. Without signing in
GDLykoi can be used without a bimover account: open, edit and write library parts. In this state GDLykoi sends bimover nothing.
4. Signed in
You sign in with Apple or with Microsoft. Signing in works as on the website, and what we store for it is described in the general Privacy Policy. There is no separate GDLykoi account.
When you sign in, GDLykoi sends bimover:
- the sign-in token from Apple or Microsoft; it contains your email address and the identifier of your Apple or Microsoft account, and Microsoft’s also your name and the identifier of your organisation;
- an identifier of this device and the public part of a key GDLykoi creates for it; the private part stays in the keychain;
- the name of your Mac as set in System Settings; it often contains your first name;
- the platform, the version of GDLykoi and which app is signing in.
After that, GDLykoi renews the session from time to time and asks our server whether your office has assigned you a GDLykoi licence. The session, a proof carrying the public key of this device and the identifier of the app go along, and, as with any request on the internet, your IP address. The answer says whether the licence is valid and until when.
When you sign in with Microsoft, you sign in in a Microsoft window. GDLykoi asks only for the sign-in there, not for access to email, files or calendars. Microsoft is responsible for that window.
The legal basis for signing in and checking the licence is performance of the contract for your account and licence (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); see also section 12 of the general Privacy Policy.
5. Working with an AI
GDLykoi contains a server through which an AI assistant can read and write the scripts of open library parts. The server accepts connections only from the same machine (127.0.0.1) and rejects requests from websites. In strict mode it also requires a secret word.
What an AI assistant reads through this server is processed by the assistant you chose; most send it to their provider’s servers. That provider’s privacy policy applies. bimover is not in between, receives none of it and keeps no copy.
6. No usage statistics
GDLykoi has no usage analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting to bimover, no advertising identifier and no tracking. GDLykoi does not count which tools you use.
Apple’s own figures. If you got GDLykoi from the App Store, Apple gives us crash reports and anonymous usage statistics, unless you have turned that off on your Mac. We did not build this in, and we cannot identify you in it. You turn it off under System Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.
7. Signing out and deleting your account
Abmelden (Sign Out) under Konto (Account) in the GDLykoi title bar ends the session at bimover as well and removes it and the proof of your licence from the keychain. The next sign-in replaces the key of this device. GDLykoi then carries on without an account.
You delete your bimover account on the website, see Delete your bimover account; GDLykoi opens this page from the button on the right of its title bar, signed in (Konto, Account) or not (Anmelden, Sign In). The account applies to every bimover app you sign in to with it. If you own an office in which others still work, or if an office that would be dissolved with the account has an unpaid invoice, the page tells you what to do first.
8. How long we keep data
We keep account, sessions, devices and licences as described in section 11 of the general Privacy Policy. GDLykoi reports nothing to us that would have to be kept beyond that.
9. Your rights
The section on your rights in the general Privacy Policy applies here too: access, rectification, erasure, objection and complaint to the competent supervisory authority. Write to privacy@bimover.ch.
